Everyone always gets a kick out of watching Pele leap after Stick, so I thought we'd share the fun for everyone who can't see it in person:

Ring-o-Rama

This past weekend brought a monumental event: Ring-o-Rama!

Yes, that's right, we played all three extended editions of Lords of the Rings back-to-back this past Saturday. It was a 12 hours tour de force of movie goodness. First film rolled at noon and we finished around 12:30 the next morning. Naturally all of the food was ring-themed and thanks to some fast-thinking friends we had lots of great accessories to go with.

We didn't get many pictures taken, which is unfortunate, but what we did get is up on the gallery. You'll get a brief sampling of our food and a look at the theater setup. We managed to transform our sectional into stadium seating, it was quite exciting!

Chicago

Sarah and I are back from our Chicago trip! We had a lot of fun, no doubt about it. Saw some sights like the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago and Millenium Park. We also ate at some great restaurants like Bella Luna and The Vermillion. Finally, we got to see Blue Man Group perform... what a treat! We'd certainly go back to see them again in a heartbeat.

Naturally we took some pictures while we were out and about. Enjoy!

On a side note, I also fixed up that stupid gallery issue where your first click didn't do anything. Life is good.

We're Back!

Okay, so it took me a little while, but the site is slowly getting back to its old self! Although it is now a new and improved old self. The gallery, as I'm sure you've noted, has made its glorious return. *cues the trumpet fanfare*

But wait! The gallery is bigger and better than before!

Yes, it's true, I actually did something. I combined a couple of our image galleries so they make more sense. Note that New Kittens is not in fact pictures of more new kittens but just pictures of Pele and Foom when they were young. We don't need any more cats in our lives, thank you. Anyway, you now get to see thumbnails of all the images in that gallery. Click on any thumbnail to take you directly to that picture. How cool is that? I feel good knowing my college education has finally paid off.

I pretty much whipped this up in one very late night, so there might be a few problems. In fact I know of one: the first time you try to navigate to a picture in a gallery (either using the forward and backward buttons or by clicking on a thumbnail), nothing seems to happen. Click again on something and you'll be able to navigate fine. Still trying to figure that one out.

New Site

I've switched us over to a new hosting service. This new host lets me do ASP.NET, which means I can do lots of cool stuff much easier. Will I actually do cool stuff? That remains to be seen... but the possibility is now there ;)

We're hooked back up with all our blogging goodness. Still have to get the gallery working, though. I plan on making some improvements to it, though, including image thumbnails so you don't need to flip through each section one image at a time.

Eventually things will be running smoothly again. It's just going to take me a little bit of time to get everything done!
